Personally, I'm all for removing unnecissarily Linux-specific things,
but you really should ask the maintainer of logview for this request.
Ideally, requests should also be put into the bug tracker, Bugzilla
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=gnome-utils).
