trimming replies

Sorry to have to post such a message here, but I'm losing track of which
parts of the conversation are relavent in some of these replies.  One
reply was just one sentence, followed by about 8 pages of quotes.  I
don't even know what the reply was in response to.  I know, I sound like
a prude, but it will make my life easier when I catch up on these
discussions after a few days away.  Thanks,
