Re: Language team mailing lists

The Swedish team uses the li.org mailing list too, on occasion (almost
all Gnome translators are subscribed to it). I think it works great,
because most of the time we have very nice input on the translations by
other translators, even those who are not translating Gnome (and just
translating stuff for the Translation Project).
Of course, this can differ between different language teams, but the
Swedish Translation Project team coordinator was very open about also
using the mailing list for discussing/reviewing Gnome translations, and
it has worked fine.

I couldn't find an entry for an Irish team on the Translation Project
team page
(http://www2.iro.umontreal.ca/~pinard/po/registry.cgi?team=index), so it
might be that the Irish team has been abandoned.

If you want to revive the Irish mailing list, you might consider the
reviving of the Irish Translation Project team and becoming the Irish
team coordinator. In that case, write to translation@iro.umontreal.ca
(instructions for establishing a new team is at
http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/contrib/po/HTML/leaders.html).

Of course, after you're a team coordinator, you're free to use the
mailing list as you wish. :-)
