I'm writing a mail for gtk-devel now.

I have given a quick look at the code related with autocompletion in
gal/e-text and it seems a completely different design. I suspect that
most of the complexity could be moved to an object implementing
EggCompletionSource, but I would like to know the precise requirements
of Evolution.

I will commit the current code to libegg in a few days if nobody
complains.
