The HIG Team and the GNOME Usability Project are proud to release v0.1
of the GNOME 2 Human Interface Guide (HIG). This is a draft release:
some content is already slated to change or is not yet written, and
there are relatively few illustrations. However, we felt it was
important to start the public review process as early as possible. Thus
while v0.1 is a little rough it should be complete enough to provide
both a flavour of the final HIG and enough of a basis for critique.
Its available in HTML & PS at http://usability.gnome.org/hig
What is the GNOME 2 HIG? Excert from the introduction...
"This document tells you how to create applications that look right,
behave properly, and fit into the Gnome user interface as a whole. It is
written for interface designers, graphic artists and software developers
who will be creating software for the Gnome environment. Both specific
advice on making effective use of interface elements, and the philosophy
and general design principles behind the Gnome interface are covered."
Release the hounds!
