It would only make sense to do a GNOME-1.6 if we had a second
team of hackers to do GNOME-1.6 without taking time away
from GNOME-2.0. I don't think we do....

Slowing down GNOME-2.0 to do GNOME-1.6 makes very little sense,
because the major improvements GNOME-2.0 offers can only come with
GNOME-2.0.
