read-only should suffice.  But don't worry -- nobody wants to take away
CVS access for you!

Please consider this is a perfect situation.  Regular translators aren't
able to read source (okay they can learn it...).  Sure, it's needed to
test a translation; this doesn't have to be done by the translator
himself.

That's a feature I use all the time :)
