So,
To make life easier for packagers, testers and QA dudes during the testing
period before the 2.0 desktop release, it would be inordinately helpful for
maintainers to make weekly releases of their packages.
To keep this from becoming a total packaging ostklägg, the release team will
be branding the latest packages available on ftp.gnome.org each Monday as
snapshots. Packages without a weekly update will just be left at their old
version, and assumed to be compatible.
Time permitting, each of these snapshots will be accompanied by a list of
the major bugs stomped that week, so we don't have to deal with an excess of
duplicates in bugzilla.
If anyone is not prepared to make weekly releases, or thinks this whole
concept is suboptimal and usability impaired [1] for other reasons, please
let us know. :)
