Which puts you back in the same firewall dysfunctional state as before, and
also continues the problems that make gnome unusable through firewalls. X
properties go with the display they solve that problem.
But thats a separate argument to much of this. Get the API right and its up
to nutters like me who loathe the corba stuff to reimplement it efficiently 8)
