Comrades,

The latest version of the NautilusVolumeMonitor in nautilus cvs now only
polls /proc/mounts once per second.
As far as I know, this will not cause the disk to spin or otherwise
adversely effecrt battery life.  The additional hits that were being seen
were a result of code being roughly treated during the big push in 1.0 to
get everything working properly under Solaris.  The code is now functioning
in the manner I had always intended.

I will endeavor not to write such stupid code in the future or else suffer
the wrath of being pilloried on the mailing list. Other persons who have
added polling code to the desktop code can deal with their own consciences
on the matter.
