well that's easy for you to say but being that we are currently limited to
flatscreen monitors working off of basic cathode ray tube type arrangements
with limited 2d acceleration and 3d acceleration at best, the options are
narrow. For a 2d desktop that must be intuitive and easily useable by joe
smoe, we are kind of stuck to simple click on icon and text entry type
UIs. This isn't star trek where we have holograph interfaces. Anyway, I
think the kde and gnome desktop is fine. That doesn't mean there isn't room
for improvement but don't expect future style interfaces.
