However, the Open and New commands create new windows, while Revert doesn't, so there are differences. In general I'm not very happy with the way I've got the File menu organised, and I'd appreciate any suggestions. > On that note, "Undo all changes" might be a better name, or "Reload from > disk", > either of which would be best include a warning message similar to that used > when closing a document with unsaved changes. "Undo all changes" isn't right. If the user were to open a file, edit it, save it, and edit again, they could then use the Undo command on the Edit menu to get to a state prior to the save, which they wouldn't be able to do with Revert. "Reload from disk" isn't right either. If the user didn't know that the file system was on disk and that the running program was in main memory (ignoring for a moment the fact that some of it will be swapped out to disk anyway) then they wouldn't understand the significance of "Reload from disk". At this stage I think I'm happiest with "Revert to Saved", though it also occured to me that "Reopen" was an option. colin _____________________________ ____ rtnl http://rational.cjb.net c z robertson ndirect co uk icq 13294163
