File names with spaces (was: RE: First UI component needing replacement.)

[Oh, sh... - again, the old reply-to-does-not-reply-to-list issue. Sorry you
got this mail twice, Colin.]

I'm not sure how many files with a space I have on my (Windows) system - the
"improved" Windows 2000 finds-files-but-looks-like-a-web-search sh** does
not allow to search for such files :(

What I do know is that in Windows 2000 I have at least the following
folders:

Dokumente und Einstellungen (Documents and Settings?), All Users, Default
User, Eigene Dateien (My Documents), Lokale Einstellungen (Local Settings?),
Temporary Internet Files, Internet Explorer, ComPlus Applications,
Gemeinsame Dateien (Common Files), Outlook Express, Windows NT, Connection
Wizard, Downloded Program Files, Offline Web Pages

All of those were created by Windows 2000 automatically, and I don't think
it will be possible to rename all of them without trouble. If you care about
compatibility and not annoying users, allow file names with spaces.
