Woo! Can I play?
How about:
Shaun's fluffy markup language (SFML)?
or
Kitten Lovers {Doc Language, Markup Language}?
(That way we can claim other languages kill kittens | we are more kitten
friendly than other doc teams | ...)
or
HelpBook / DocHelp ?
or
Special Purpose Assistance Markup? (SPAM for short, allowing for a
series of puns about yelp being powered by spam / working with spam
etc., sure to get slashdot fired up)
or
Mallard Markup Language (MML)
or
The long awaited but boringly named Help Markup Language (TLABBNHML.
Which could be shortened I suppose to TABLE)
or
...
Anyway. I was going to ask, since Mallard is now starting to take
shape, is there any possibility of getting a roadmap or a plan of how
its going to be done. Nothing formal, but just a list of steps of how
to get from here to there like (or even a list of things that need to be
done):
1. Decide on language name
2. Decide on language elements
3. Release sample doc, show off to everyone
4. Kill scrollkeeper using a blunt knife
5. Decide how to replace scrollkeeper. Poke scrollkeeper a couple more
times to make sure its really dead.
6. ... etc.
It would be quite useful to have this for a couple of reasons:
* To look at and feel things are happening
* There are various small bits I'd like to see included (small things).
They can be added afterwards, but maybe adding them during creation
would be easier.
* Different people like doing different things. If there's a list,
people can do different bits on it and see what depends on other bits
etc.
* The unspoken reason
Don
