Hi all,
The panel has a showstopper bug [1] that really consists in two bugs:
notification area keynav and adding the notification area to the default
panel layout. The second part is what is really marked as showstopper.
The patch is trivial [2], doesn't modify the code, but changes the
default UI. Nearly all distributions already do this change and it makes
sense since we now have a lot of applications using the notification
area (this was one of the main argument against this change two years
ago [3], the other one being that the notification area is ugly when
there's no icon, but that's really another bug [4]).
Shaun is okay with the change (except if he changed his mind since I
asked him). Now I'm looking for two approvals :-)
Cheers,
