Actions:
========
ACTION: John to put together an interim stylesheet for the beta that
displays the entire document and that works.
ACTION: Eric to write a note explaining what can reasonably be done on
the display stylesheets in time for release.
ACTION: Daniel to provide a script that will rebuild XML catalogs if
not present.
ACTION: John to send out a note looking for a docs maintainer for
gnome-games.
Decisions and discussions:
==========================
* Schedule and deadlines
- For the Desktop Beta (Jan. 30), the primary goal is to have old
sgml removed and replaced with xml, with Makefiles and OMF files
updated. In some cases this will mean simply converting the old
sgml to xml, but the build infrastructure will be in place so once
documenters are able to build things we can finish updating the
documentation between the Desktop Beta and RC1 (Feb. 18).
* DocBook xml->html converter
- The primary issues are getting the navigation to work and the
possibility of adding caching. Eric is now working the navigation,
which is implemented in xsl stylesheets. Eric does not believe
we'll have the full navigation stylesheets done in time for the
beta, so John will do an interim version for the beta that simply
displays the entire document. (That way people will be able to see
something in Yelp.)
* Status of docs build and conversion to XML for the various packages
- We're mostly nowhere here. gnome-utils has been converted,
gnome-core is underway. Trevor said gnome-applets is under control
and will be ready in time. No one has stepped forward to take
charge of gnome-games. gnome-user-docs will be tricky because of
the new Sun stuff - Sasha and John will coordinate with Pat on
that. Nautilus will use Sun Users Guide section as its docs, so
that'll also be tricky but should be under control.
