package status

Folks -

I've gone through the GNOME2 modules list
(http://developer.gnome.org/dotplan/modules/) to try to get a handle
on where we are on the documentation. This is provisional, with
question marks where I'm not sure about things. Feel free to chime in
where I've gotten the status wrong. Once I collect feedback, I'll put
together a more formal status report to put up on d.g.o. This
information might also be useful for Nicholas for the doctable
updating effort.

"responsible" means the person herding the docs for the package. In
the case of big packages like the applets or gnome-utils, there may be
many more people involved. "converted" means the doc is converted to
xml and the new templates (especially including all the legal
mumbo-jumbo). "updated" means updated with all the GNOME2 changes,
including screenshots. "build" means included in the build.

Cheers,

John

1. gnome-core has been split into gnome-panel, gnome-session, and
   gnome-desktop.

2. The luxurious profterm was recently substituted for the old
crack-laden gnome-terminal. Either the amazingly productive Sun team
will modify the old gnome-terminal doc or John Fleck will write a
   new one.
