I'm back at my desk again. Thanks for the feedback on the User Guide.
Here are my responses:

The term pointer will be defined in the next batch of terms that we add
to the word list in the Style Guide. We haven't needed to define cursor
yet, but I think that the definition that you suggest would be good.

If the window is minimized you need to double-click. I will update the
User Guide accordingly.

I have suggested this as an enhancement. This will be passed on to the
GNOME usability team.
