Hi Greg,
The word "following" is emphasized to indicate that you can use the word
"following" as an adjective, even though "following" is a gerund form. For
example:
You can use the word "following" in the following ways:
- To introduce a list of features, characteristics or items.
- To introduce a step procedure.
For example:
You can perform the following actions with the GNOME Applet:
o Action 1.
o Action 2.
o Action 3.
For example:
To perform Action 1 with the GNOME Applet, perform the following steps:
1. Open the GNOME Applet.
2. Click on Toolbar icon.
3. Select the Action 1 menuitem.
4. Click OK.
Does this explanation clarify how you use the word "following", or maybe you
were asking a different question?
Regards,
Pat
