   Generally you should use the GNOME Handbook of Writing Software
Documentation (http://www.gnome.org/gdp/gdp-handbook/index.html).  

However, until I finish the DTD section of the Handbook, you should use

http://www.labs.redhat.com/png/

and

http://www.labs.redhat.com/png/custom.html
