Program icon in tabs on taskbar

Hi all,

I am running Gnome 2.8 on a Debian Sarge.

I would like to know how to set the icon that appears in a given
program tab on the taskbar? For instance I installed the program
aterm. Everytime I run aterm the icon associated to it is a simple
sheet of paper. I would like to change it to something else.

Any input would be much appreciated.
