Is gnome basic still in active developement?
Like, is it currently meant for Gnome 2?
It started back in gnome 1 time, and did't progress very rapidly. Once it
seemed that the project was abandoned. So, if it is still a gnome 1
software, and you don't have gnome 1 installed, that would explain the
prob.
