WM hints in Gnome 2

Hello,

I'm currently porting to Gnome 2 & I'm having trouble setting unusual WM hints. In particular:

How to make a window not appear on the taskbar

(was gnome_win_hints_set_hints)

How to make a window appear above all others

(was gnome_win_hints_set_layer)

Also how to make a window 'sticky' - gtk_window_stick doesn't seem
to work for me, is this a bug or am I missing something.
