CVS branches info

Hi
How can one find out what branches are on certain modules and their
description ?
For example, control-center HEAD has version 1.3.1 in configure.in and I
don't
know where from to take 1.4.
cvsweb shows branches nice, but it isn't on http://cvs.gnome.org.
