That's not the point - scripting languages are great and support for
them is good, no one disputed that.

The original post said this:

Which is the wrong direction.  *Gnome* should run whether they're there or not,
even if some *applications* won't run.  If people need to run the apps, then
they should be able to decide whether to install the language bindings.
