The only real way to figure out GnomeClient is to read SM.ps in the X
documentation (or on Red Hat, it's
/usr/share/doc/XFree86-doc-4.0.1/SM/SMlib.txt). GnomeClient is a
straightforward wrapper around X session management. X SM is probably
really overcomplicated, and you get all its joys in GnomeClient. ;-)
