Off the top of my head:

gcc (not required, but it helps a lot)
autoconf (requires m4)
automake (requires perl)
libtool
imlib (should have libjpeg, libgif, libxpm)
libaudiofile (libesd?)
libdb
glib
gtk+
libxml (aka gnome-xml)
gnome-libs

The only one that gave me some trouble on solaris/x86 is libdb. Other than that
things went fine.
