Panel problem

Hi,

I've compiled and installed several libraries to test nautilus and 
evolution and now I've a serious problem with the gnome-panel.
It is not possible to start an applet :

bash-2.04$ task-list-applet

** WARNING **: Cannot activate a panel object

** WARNING **: Cannot start CORBA

And i can't start more the one gnome-terminal from the menu, but if i 
start another gnome-terminal from a terminal there's no problem.

I've deleted all my local gnome files and directories and also all files 
in /tmp , but the problem still exists.
