Can't run aclocal

I'm having problems with aclocal.

Q: What is the proper location for 'aclocal-include.m4' file?

My configure.in defines:

6: ...
7: dnl Specify an additional directory to search for 'm4' macros.
8: dnl My ./macros directory should have copies of GNOME macros.
9: AM_ACLOCAL_INCLUDE(macros)

And running 'aclocal':

aclocal: configure.in: 9: macro `AM_ACLOCAL_INCLUDE' not found in library

My ./macros directory has 'aclocal-include.m4' that defines m4 macro above.

But souldn't it be in /usr/share/aclocal?

I'm running stock RH 6.2 with automake-1.4-6 and autoconf-2.13-5
