gtk-xmhtml is more or less deprecated. At least, it will be totally for
the GNOME 2.0 platform (and perhaps for the GNOME 1.4 platform; someone
more knowledgeable than I can comment on this). As far as displaying goes,
it's pretty stable, although there are a few small rendering bugs. We use
it extensively in the Helix GNOME installer and updater. Editing
capabilities are pretty stable, I think, but not all of the features are
there.
