mixed state widgets?

In one of the programs I am working on (dia), it is possible to group a
number of objects and then modify their properties together.

When two objects have different values for a property, so you can't really
show the user one value for the property.  The usual way to handle this is
to have a `mixed' state that indicates this.  Does anyone know of a nice
way to do this in GTK?
