It won't work if sh doesnt handle `export foo=bar' constructs, as
opposed to `foo=bar; export foo'. It won't work if LD_LIBRARY_PATH
doesn't mean anything to the linker (eg. you need SHLIB_PATH on HP-UX,
LIBPATH on AIX, etc.). And I'm not sure it would work if srcdir != builddir.
