I use WindowMaker as windowmanager and gnome as desktop, and all work OK. But
i dont use the gnome panel beacouse i fave a good menu and dock with WMaker.
Try (if you want) using gmc (the file manager) and setting up the apps into
your wmanager menu, so that's how i use it.
About enlightment it is full gnome compilant, so check the docs and you will
find a good answer.
