musical-notation widget

hi all,

i'm writing on a music program for wich i need a kind of
'musical notation widget'.
it should display a sheet of music, where notes can be
placed and moved.

is something like this allready available, or someone
writing on it?

if i have to do it my self, i prefer to set it up on gnome
canvas.

any better ideas or suggestions?
