I think you have missunderstood my message.
I did not ask for documentation, I said that gnome does not need a specific
"gnome-clipboard".

I allso said that the the gnome documentation lacks a note about that the
"gnome-clipboard" == X-selection, and how to use it.
It allready has a nice section about DnD...
