Oh my god.  I really had hoped that this whole upgrade BS with gtk 
was over with.  Bug fixes are one thing but introducing new calls 
to a library thats supposed to be stable is a real pain in the ass. 
I did suspect this but after checking the gtk site, I saw nothing about a new version.
