Diffs on gnome site

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but here it goes.

Is anyone using diffs of ftp.gnome.org site to update sources? Because
this diffs don't update binary files. So it's not a very good idea to
update with this diffs.

I tried to see what parameter is used to make diff handle also binary
files and I didn't find one.
