Please tell me how I fix this ?
Which is the version number of the Berkley DB tha you have installed ?
Would it be possible that you're compiling libgda using Berkley DB
version 3.x or 2.x header file and version 4.x libraries, for some reason ?
Maybe /usr/include/db.h or /usr/local/include/db.h is pointing to a wrong
version.
it is indeed that the problem. Some other people have reported it. So we
should check for the version of berkeley db in configure.in, and disable
the bdb backend if < 4.x.
Thank you. With your help I have now got it fixed.
What I did was to ./configure --without-bdb

While you don't greatly need the outside world, it's still very
reassuring to know that it's still there.
