[gnome-db] DataSourceSelector constructor arg?

I'm diagnosing a crash instantiating a DataSourceSelector, and I'm confused 
as to the intended use of the provider argument to 
gnome_db_data_source_selector_new().  I originally assumed that it was used 
to filter data sources by provider.  In fact, it appears to set the default 
selection.  Is that correct?
