Well, I'll do what I can, but don't expect any miracles... ;)

The first thing I would like to see is a data dictionary, something where you 
can specify things like data type, size, business definitions, etc, at the 
data element level.

So I guess the first thing to do would be to get familiar with the GDA and 
GnomeDB API's
