Hi all!
One of the first things to do for the next release is to move the
existing providers to use the new gda-server lib, which implements all
the CORBA-related part.
I have started, as you may have seen, the LDAP and Interbase providers
to test it, but as I don't know too much about those two, I've stopped
waiting for somebody to continue them (this also applies to the already
existing and empty sybase provider). But we need to test this library,
so I am going to get one of the existing providers to test the library.
I've thought of the oracle provider, because I know oracle, and because
it's one of the most important ones IMO, which is stopped because
Stephan has no time to continue on it, so, Stephan, do you mind if I get
it?
also, I'd like to have releases more often, so I think what we should do
is to establish some sort of roadmap for each release, and as soon as
it's completed, make a release.
For next one, 0.0.96:
* move some providers (or all if possible) to the new libgda-server
* XML queries
* Integration of all the widgets into glade (Alvaro)
Oly 3 things, but non trivial, so I think it's quite enough for next
release, apart, of course, from the typical bug corrections and UI
improvements. What do you think?
