This is not a gnome-db related issue, and as I don't know what may be
happening, please forwartd the question to gnome-list@gnome.org.

But, anyway, I remember something about this in an installation I made on
a Solaris machine. it was because you have to compile libdb with version
1.85 compatibility. I'm not sure, so please ask in the gnome list.
