compiling gnome-libs-1.0.55

Hi
I am compiling "gnome-libs-1.0.55" on HPUX version 11.00 platform.
I haved already installed "db-3.0.55". but the configure file in
"gnome-libs-1.0.54" can find "dbopen()" function in "db" library.
Have you got any idea what shall i do?
