Gnome Apps List

I've begun migrating my productivity apps from Mac OS X 10.3 to Gnome 
(the latest build available from Fink.) I need recommendations for the 
following application categories:

Web browser (I use Firebird on Panther and Mozilla in Gnome.)
E-mail client (???)
Newsreader (???)
MS Word Compatible Editor (Abiword??)

Thanks a million. I prefer Fink-able binaries.
