Does it support anything like the BonoboMedia interfaces?

It never really got off, but something like this is going to be needed if
you want to support applications that play back media and want to control
it themselves (like Windows MCI). For example, a game that wants to play
back a cutscene obviously wouldn't want to include the play/pause/etc.
controls in its GUI.
