Calling bonobo_ui_component_set_status (ui_component, "") has no effect. I
think this is probably due to merging code that special-cases the empty
string. In this case, it is clearly a bug for this not to set the text in
the status bar to the empty string.
The workaround I used in Nautilus was to pass " ". A similar workaround
could be put in bonobo_ui_component_set_status, but that feels like a hack
to me.
I'm cc:ing gnome-components-list in case anyone else has (or is about to)
run into this problem.
Michael, should I write up a bug report somewhere about this, or is this
email sufficient?
John
