Symmetricity(sp?) of query_interface

Let me quote Bonobo.sgml:

              If the operation <function>query_interface</function> on
              an object A with interface IA is invoked to query the
              interface "IB" and this call succeeds, then
              query_interface on the returned B object for interface
              "IA" should return object A.

However, query_interface returns a CORBA Object (Object query_interface
(in string repoid);) Does that mean query_interface() has to be
symmetrical only if the resulting object inherits from Bonobo::Unknown?
