GnomeView & size_allocate signal

Hi,
One small question:
why does the GnomeView implementation of the
GNOME::View::size_allocate function does not
emit a size_allocate signal instead of diretcly
allocating the plug ?
It would be more elegant to be consistant with
the size_request signal and the GNOME::View::size_request...
