Hi folks:
First, I'd like to apologize for not being part of your list and making a
question. In fact, I think my question is totally relevant. I afforded Red
Hat 9.0, intended to build Gnome 2.2.1 on it. I spent a night downloading all
the bzip tarballs on the Gnome FTP site. However, I couldn't go ahead because
in the first tarball building (as the Gnome site tells: libxml) I find a
problem. The program couldn't find the libtool. I know libtool is installed,
after all I have Gnome 2.2.0 working, as well as KDE, and doing "rpm -qi" I
could see it. The question is newbie, I know, but how can I surpasse it,
telling "make" where my libtool is (I don't know how to find it)? Any of you
people have built Gnome 2.2.1 on RH 9.0? I'd like to see a how-to, something
like that, that teaches me how to use the platform on my RH. After all, I
think that since the program is release for masses, they'd be wondered to
know how to install it first, wouldn't they? There are so many tarballs to
compile that should be a how to to teach us the procedure, not just the list
of compile tarball order.
Well, I'd like some help on this issue. Any help.
Thanks,
Paulo Igor - Amazon - Brazil.
