GARNOME Preview Seven: "The Belgian Goodbye"

GARNOME Preview Seven: "The Belgian Goodbye"
============================================

GARNOME 0.10.1 - the bad-ass, bleeding edge GNOME distribution for testers
and tweakers everywhere - is ready for more tire-kicking and bug-bashing. If
you're dying to try the GNOME 2.0 Desktop, but don't want to fall into the
depraved addictions and co-dependencies of testing from anonymous CVS, then
GARNOME is for you.

Random
------

Beta 5 is very smooth. Lots of bugs squashed, so you're looking at a
quickly-stabilising desktop just around the corner from full release. If
you're not using G2D full time now, it's probably because your Mum won't let
you. Or your LFS is totally broken. Either way, it's time to get cracking,
and leap into the GNOME 2.0 Desktop!

What about cool GARNOME bits? A new splash screen, some kickarse new
garballs, and a big surprise. Get your fix now!

What is The Belgian Goodbye?
----------------------------

What happens when a beautiful, blonde Belgian leans over your drinks for a
goodbye hug? Here's the 'before' shot... The 'after' shot is left to your
imagination, and my pants.

What's New?
-----------

  - Based on G2D Beta 5 and snapshot 20020525. Too many updates to list. :-)

  - magicdev preview, ported by Bastien Nocera and including his kickarse
control panel. Run magicdev, and it will add itself to your session.
    Great stuff!

  - glade, Damon Chaplin's user interface design tool for GNOME 2.0.

  - Fixes for GConf (Galeon 1.2 works by default now!) and others.

  - A surprise. :-)

  - Sweet new splash screen, showing off The Art of GNOME 2.0.

Where do I get it?
------------------

The tarball and documentation is available on the GARNOME website:

Happy Testing!
